Earthworks Urban Farm, a project of the Capuchin Soup Kitchen, promotes the importance of locally grown food.  A volunteer at Earthworks does hands-on work in the garden and helps mentor youth and other guests of the Capuchin Soup Kitchen in food production, distribution and preparation.
Alternatives for Girls is an organization that empowers high-risk girls and young women to make positive choices.  A Cap Corps volunteer works in the Transition to Independent Living program of AFG, which provides emergency shelter to single adult women, expecting mothers and women with children.  The volunteer gains valuable social work and case management experience in this position with AFG.   
Detroit Cristo Rey High School assists Detroit youth on their journey toward becoming college graduates through one of the most exciting and innovative models of education in the country.  Cap Corps volunteers at Cristo Rey have served as classroom teachers, homecoming DJ's, drivers, and mentors.  A variety of opportunities within the high school setting are available for volunteers passionate about education and youth. 
The Campaign to Reform Immigration for America is a united national effort that brings together individuals and grassroots organizations with the mission to build support for workable comprehensive immigration reform. Volunteer will work to educate people to know their rights and work with churches and other faith-based organizations.
